Cree launches LED module for home residential lighting downlights

Recently, Cree announced the commercialization of its 750 lm LMR2 LED module, an integrated platform that helps lighting manufacturers accelerate time-to-market and further reduce initial costs in the residential LED lighting market. This groundbreaking LMR2 LED module combines light source, drive, optics and primary thermal design in a single, compact system, greatly simplifying lighting replacement and new installations.

Cree's new LMR2 LED module has the same structural dimensions as the previously commercialized mass-produced LMR2 module, and is optimized for performance, dimming, and cost requirements for the home residential market, providing lighting manufacturers with a Platform products for a variety of applications and reliable investment protection. The new LMR2 LED module also has the same optical and mechanical interface as the LMH2 LED module, helping lighting manufacturers to further increase product development speed and time to market based on existing luminaire designs.

The Cree LMR2 LED module uses Cree EasyWhite® technology to achieve light output of up to 750 lm (with light efficiency of 72 lm/W), color rendering index of 80, and color temperature of 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K. Cree EasyWhite® technology ensures that lighting manufacturers achieve exceptional light color consistency at all available color temperatures. The LMR2 LED module has a design life of 35,000 hours, is 5% dimmable and is compatible with most standard dimmers, while providing Cree's industry-leading 3-year warranty.

The LMR2 LED module has passed UL certification, and the lighting manufacturer who needs to pass the US Energy Star and California Code of Regulations Title 24 certification can also obtain the relevant specifications and performance data including the LM-80 report.
